Our Story

Welcome!

Since 2015, we’ve been breaking barriers and building equity for teen girls and young adult women. From period positivity initiatives to mentorship, mental health support, empowerment workshops, and life skills building, we’ve been a trusted resource for youth in the Charlotte Metro area. We love engaging our teen girls and young adult women. To help with this work we provide volunteer opportunites and impactful partnerships that empower and support our teen girls.

We are passionate about promoting menstrual equity and eliminating the stigma surrounding periods. Through education, product access, and mental health & wellness support, we empower menstruators to embrace their journeys with confidence and preparedness. It is important for us to ensure that  every young person has the resources, knowledge, and support they need to experience their menstrual journey with positivity and pride.

At Girl Flow, we’re not just creating change—we’re building a movement. Join us in making menstrual equity a reality for all.

Meet the Founder

In 2015, Tashina Figueroa established the organization (formerly Covered Girls) with a desire to cultivate a nurturing environment that educates, empowers, and equips young women, enabling them to lead healthy and productive lives despite challenges. With a robust nonprofit background spanning 15 years, Tashina has actively collaborated with numerous projects in the support and development of teen girls and young adult women.
